Restaurant d'acqua first opened its doors back in november 2008 and from that day the restaurant has concentrated in offering guests the perfect venue.
The restaurant has been built up from a bare shell which took eight months from start to finish. Every detail has been looked at including the handmade bricks used in the feature archways and the bespoke led lighting.
The name d'acqua was chosen after wanting to link the buildings past with it being sunderland and south shields water company building with the restaurant. So it translates in english to "restaurant of water"
The food d'acqua cooks is all cooked from the heart by a young team of experienced and qualified chefs. The quality of the food is second to none as d'acqua believes in using highest quality produce so that the finsihed dishes are to the best standard.
The restaurant menu is inspired from italian and french cuisine but also as a english twist. Such dishes as chunky cod fish and chips has become very popular along with homemade meatballs.
D'acqua now offers laid back soul and jazz evenings every wednesday from 7pm where you can relax and enjoy the soothing sounds whilst eating and drinking. A perfect mid week treat!
